Description
The "Golden Arm" Lake, as it translates, lies in the center of Cape Breton Island. With smaller islands within this large salt/fresh water lake already residing withing a larger island, this body of water houses its own little world. Many parts of the lake, including several islands within it, share some of the strongest connections with Fae, and magic always feels a little stronger in its presence. Many fae-born often visit the lake, if not take up residence nearby, as it offers both a sense of home as well as the ability to explore their powers in a magic-rich environment.
While bubbles of the realm-in-between appear across the whole of the island, they seem larger and more prevalent near the lake. Watermen oftentimes feel the charged air of Fae and see strange creatures swimming just below the surface, while sometimes islands just appear from another realm, appearing to defy all laws of nature, only to vanish several days later. The lake is important to the people of Cape Breton Island, both for food and for its obvious centerpiece of the connection to Fae, and so the people of the island always come together to block any legal motions that would allow corporations to defile its ecosystem.
Size: 424 mi2
Condition: Wet
Inhabitants: Fish & Fae
